Ever wonder “what if someone won’t buy what I’m offering??”
You know you have something of value but you’ve either been hearing no or flat out crickets – and it’s starting to make you nervous about your pricing.
Let’s talk about a brown coat and why it matters to you and your business.
Last year I was looking for a brown short coat to try to see if I could pull off “the pin from Pintrest” (any fellow non-fashionistas know what I mean there). So my husband and I went to a mall while we were on vacation.
Store after store and no brown coat.
An hour later, I FINALLY I found one!! It was exactly what I was looking for.
$1,750. (insert jaw drop)
Would I spend that kind of money on my business? Yes. But that’s just because that’s something that is a priority for me personally.
But when it comes to fashion, I’m more of a $10-$30 a shirt kind of girl so needless to say, there was no way I was going to spend that kind of money BUT…. SOMEONE out there will. Someone will have a different belief about fashion and because that coat will fill a need for them and their style, they will purchase it.
That designer wasn’t afraid of the people like me who would put the coat back on the rack and leave the store in two seconds realizing it wasn’t for her. They didn’t create their brand to appeal to the masses. They went into the marketplace focused on their ideal shoppers who would understand and believe in the story behind the price tag.
When it comes to pricing in your business, are you fearful that people won’t value your pricing and what you offer? That they’re going to “run out of the store” and go somewhere else for less?
OR are you confident that even if you “lose some” those who are meant to work with you and understand the awesome impact you can have on their lives… are out there ready for you?
It all starts with belief.
P.S. For the record, a day later I found the brown coat in the picture for $15… SCORE!
